The battle for the throne of Mirzapur, crimes, and backstabbing are all present in this season too. Mirzapur Season 2 is full of emotions, introduction of new characters, and the plot is widened further compared to its last season.

“Neither Ali Fazal nor Pankaj Tripathi puts a foot wrong. Divyenndu plays the headstrong Munna with even greater aplomb than before.”
~ NDTV

The makers of Mirzapur have put the focus on the on-going battles between the characters and this season could be given a rating of 7/10.

What’s it About?

For those who haven’t watched the first season, without giving out many spoilers, the plot could be briefed as a tale that is focused on a place ‘Mirzapur’ where all the ‘ruling’ is done by a don named Akhandanandh Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiyya and he is generally addressed as the ‘King Of Mirzapur’.

Akhandanandh’s son Phoolchandh Tripathi aka Munna Bhaiyya has his eye on the ‘throne’ of Mirzapur and desperately tries to gain his father’s trust.

The introduction of two brothers, Guddu Pandit and Bablu Pandit brings in a package of rivalry between the brothers and Munna. The plot gets enriched with time when politics, love affairs, and crimes are all introduced. The first part ends where Munna Bhaiyya kills a good lot of people related to Guddu and where Guddu manages to escape from getting killed.

The sequel kick starts with an injured Guddu, his sister Dimpy and his brother Bablu’s girlfriend Golu on the run after their lucky escape from Munna Tripathy.

Guddu’s and Golu seek revenge and to gain the throne of Mirzapur is the rest of the plot. Along with previous characters, a couple of new faces are introduced in this season. The moments where Guddu and Golu share their misery together, when Guddu finds his love again with Shabnam, when Munna Tripathi gets connected to Madhuri Yadav daughter of Chief Minister etc sheds a different angle of these characters to the viewers.

My Take

Fans of Mirzapur were on a desperate wait for the second season of the series as the first one was stopped with the escape of Guddu Pandit. The sequel, though had more detailing and drama with its usual bloodshed and violence, fails to impress as expected. Also, Mirzapur 2 can’t be ruled out as a bad try either.

Compared to the first season, the series has improved a lot when it comes to production quality and characters. The amount of drama drags a bit and as we all know, anything in excess brings boredom a bit of cringe with it. This crime thriller is otherwise a good watch and yes, for the fans of Mirzapur, the makers had made sure to include necessary elements of surprise as well.

Nothing has gone wrong in case of performances in this sequel too. Ali Fazal looks intense as Guddu Pandit, Divyendu as Munna has handled a lot more than what he had to offer in the first part and Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiyya as always was simply brilliant. The new additions to the series, Isha Talwar as Madhuri and Vijay Varma as Bharat/Shatrugna Tyagi have made the element of performance more strong.

Finally

Despite the grey shade of excess drama and cliched additions to the story, Mirzapur 2 ends with a reason yet again for the fans to wait for the next installment from the makers.

I won’t bother with negative reviews from the viewers, if you are a fan of Crime Thrillers with a raw touch to the plot, watch Mirzapur and all we can guarantee is that you will find more than what you are looking for!

Mirzapur Season 2: More drama, more characters, more bloodshed, and more people trying to sit on the throne of Mirzapur!

[102,76,36,123,69,73,55,119,78,77,193,83,70,79,86,33
439,66,103
post-2090","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-web-series-review","category-action","category-actors","category-castandcrew","category-crime","category-drama","category-genres","category-hindi","category-indian","category-origin","category-pankaj-tripathi","category-prime-video","category-review","category-streaming-service","category-thriller","category-tv-series","tag-mirzapur-season-2-review","tag-spoiler-free-review","tag-web-series-review
