Pataal Lok was released on Amazon Prime recently and is surely one of the best TV/Web Series that I have watched in this contemporary era. Casting and plot are impressive, well-executed, and something to look for. Pataal Lok can be best described as a suspense-thriller as it unravels suspense in its last episode, keeping you on the hook till the very end.
Pataal Lok is the story of a Police Officer in the quest for truth, resulting in unveiling many secrets. Significantly, Pataal Lok forced me to think about many untold dimensions of society.
Characters
Pataal Lok has a very complicated or diverse premise. The series highlights the efforts of Hathiram Choudhary for pursuing the truth and revolves around the life story of other characters such as Hatoda Tyagi and his journey in becoming a nerveless criminal. Tope Singh and his life, and the evils of the society that led him to fall in the pitch of the crime world. The series also highlighted the communal tensions that common masses in India still face and Kabir, the driver was the victim of the same communal tension. Last but not the least, the character of Mary highlighted the intolerant behavior of society towards the LGBTQ community.

The series cast and their acting performances were the best.

The character of Hathiram Choudhary which was played by Jaideep Ahlawat impressed me the most as he completely justified his role and made all the possible effort to make this character a memorable one for the masses.
Niharika Dutt
Niharika Dutt who played the role of Sara Mathews worked great in the role of the journalist who tried to bring the truth to the public.
Jagjeet Sandhu
Jagjeet Sandhu plays the role of Tope Singh very well and gave his best to reflect the sick mentality of Indian society.
Mairembam Ronaldo Singh
Mairembam Ronaldo Singh impressed in the role of Mary Lyngdoh.
Abhishek Banerjee
The role of Hatodatyafi is played by Abhishek Banerjee that created a lasting impression in my mind owing to the great performance of his in the series.
Neeraj Kabi
Other roles such as Sanjeev Malhotra by Neeraj Kabi were done very elegantly and perfectly.
General Overview
As a viewer, the expectation that I had from this series has been met. Even this series did great in terms of casting, and performances by the actors. The pace of the series is average and every episode reveals new theories and secrets that make it interesting and engaging. Pataal Lok gives complete justice to the genre as throughout the series the suspense was maintained and it was revealed only in the end. The story highlights many social evils still present in the society that lead a common man to the world of crime. How politicians and corrupt bureaucrats play a role in the functioning of this criminal system.
