Release Date: April 13, 2022

Vijay’s blazing guns misfires this time under Nelson’s directorial.

“Even Vijay can’t rescue Beast from flippant writing.”

~  Times Of India

Our rating for Beast is 05/10.

Veera Raghavan is an ex-Raw agent, who is going through psychiatric treatment due to a traumatic past. He’s hired by a security agency and gets himself in a hostage situation. A mall in chennai is hijacked by ISIS terrorists who asks freedom of their leader from the prison in return for freeing the hostages. The movie is all about how Veera Raghavan tries to get everything back in control.

Nelson, with his dark humor and witty screenplay had given back-to-back blockbusters. Hence, a treat was expected when the maker chose to direct Vijay this time. But unfortunately, beast was a misfire.

Nothing works in beast, be it the narration, the plot, or the humor Nelson is good at presenting, While from start to end, the comedy felt extremely cringe and screenplay felt snoozy, even the stylishly choreographed stunts with Anirudh’s BGM’s too failed to give Beast an edge.

If you’re an ardent fan of Vijay, you can try watching this once.
