Introduction

[Up beat Music plays in Background] Hey, Whatโ€™s up good people? Iโ€™m feeling a bit energetic today. Why you ask? Because itโ€™s the release anniversary of Indian Godfather. There is said it. I compared the film with the โ€˜Greatest of all timeโ€™. Today weโ€™re talking about Gangs of Wasseypur 2. Actually, Itโ€™s just one big film. So no matter if I talk about the second entry, everything will be true for the first one as well. Except for Manoj Bajpayee and other actors who arenโ€™t in the second part, of course.

Iconic dialogues from this movie

This Hillarious Conversation between Faizal and Mohasina won our hearts-

Faizal: Picture chalein?

Mohasina: Haath Pakdoge tum?

Faizal: Maa kasam nahi pakdungaโ€ฆ

Mohasina: Godi mein popcorn girega, to dhoondoge nahi andhere mein?

Faizal: Maa kasam nahi dhoondengeโ€ฆ

Mohasina: Sat ke baithoge?

Faizal: Maa kasam nahi satunga..

Mohasina: To apni amma ko saath le jao na, hamara kya jaroorat hai.โ€

โ€œHum Ganja peete hain, Charas lete hain, Do-chaar murder kiye hainโ€ฆJail bhi gaye hain, Tum bhi ka-ka ki ho, bata do.โ€

โ€œHamara naam hai Perpendicular. Faizal Khan hamare bade bhai hain. Hum aapka dukan lootne aye hain.โ€

Plot Summary

After the death of his father and his brother, Faizal decides to take control of the business and start growing the territory. He finishes every enemy one by one and now sets his eyes on his biggest sworn enemy, Ramadhir Singh. But fate has other issues ready for him. His stepbrother plans an attack on him behind his back.

Directorโ€™s Masterstroke and an unnoticed quality of the movie

I donโ€™t know if you need to know this or not but the first good thing about this movie is that it is shown in two parts. It’s not that you don’t like these 5 hours of movies, but that there are moments that will make you bored. Regarding this movie, I want to say that this is the only movie I remember now, and its role will make you so intimate. Making such a long movie is very risky and worth it.

This story is based purely on revenge. What finally made us feel during these 5 hours is that revenge is real. You will be fully integrated with all hatred. Of course, we must choose who we sympathize with. The shaking sensation was when Ramadheer Singh told Faisal that the whole battle started because of his grandfather and that he wanted to live, otherwise his grandfather might kill him. At this point, I realized that his idea was not wrong. But then I also realized the power of movies. The director wants us to sympathize with the Manoj Vajpayee family. This is one of the angles of the film screening. There may be a story from Ramadhillโ€™s point of view, and we will sympathize with him.

Story deeper than the ocean, the underlying humour and Nawajuddin

The movie has a good plot and good acting skills. This is the first reason to watch a movie. In order to keep the audience engaged, the film has many twists and turns at the end. I don’t think this movie belongs to the black comedy genre, but it certainly has many examples, and you will praise the director’s wit. Continue to listen to the song, I think the second part of the soundtrack is better.

The best humorous moment in the movie is when two thugs are caught and their bikes ran out of gas. That moment was so interesting. They all lined up to fill up the gas tank. There are many such cases that will give you a real Indian feel. The second part also contains nice songs. The representatives of the ladies in the family are amazing. The way this movie allows us to participate in their daily family activities is not common in Indian movies. When it comes to roles, I have a lot more attachments to Nawajuddin Shiddiki than to Manoj Vajpayee. His image is very close to that of Al Pacino among the godparents. All the supporting roles performed very well.

Conclusion

Gangs of Wasseypur 2 Review
Gangs of Wasseypur 2 Review

I love this movie only because of two reasons; Manoj Bajpayee and Nawajuddin Siddiqui. They took control over their roles in their respective films and elevated the big picture to a level where weโ€™re calling the film โ€œThe Indian Godfatherโ€. Not a small thing.
