Introduction

This movie gave birth to two types of opinions and arguments. One is totally different from another. One based on the fact that this, being a totally new innovation to bring different types of genres together to create a new movie, is a very good movie. Another based on the fact that the innovation failed miserably. There are two equally populated groups of people who have totally polarised opinions on this movie. One loved it, One didn’t. Let’s try to find out what makes more sense.

Plot Summary

Ludo is a movie which has 4 different stories of two couples, One gangster, One boy who has a crush on a married lady, and some guy who connects the four sides to one single dot.

Here are the elements of this movie that are worth the talk

It’s really hard to say anything conclusively about this movie. So I will try to point out different aspects of movies and share my views on them. Based on that you’ll have to decide whether you want to watch it or not. How’s that for fair?

Performances

There are many leading actors in this movie. Heck! Everyone is the leading actor in the movie. But who actually lead the game? His name is Pankaj Tripathi, No one else was close to him in this movie. They weren’t as good as they usually are. Raj Kumar Rao, Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, all are great actors but this time got outshines by Pankaj Tripathi.

Pankaj also was kinda same as he is in any other web series and movie. He didn’t perform anything new. We were expecting a new angle of acting from him. But he was the only one making an impact in this movie not to forget.

Story

There are four different storylines compressed in one movie. Which made me have the “Kuch Bhi ho Raha hai” feeling. It is very confusing. Maybe because of 4 different genres being put together into one single movie. The characters are not very well written as well. Abhishek Bachchan’s character was angry throughout the whole movie for no reason at all. Aditya Roy Kapoor’s story was not so convincing and appealing. There are a lot of loopholes.

Direction

Kudos to Anuraj Basu for taking this bold step, everything rests aside, the initiative is commendable. Now, the story was confusing and poorly written. But, the direction is what made the poor story enjoyable. Director did the hardest work in this movie. He made this movie entertaining and humorous to some level.

Conclusion

I think a better option would be if you watch the movie and decide for yourself. I have stated the main points which you should be aware of. Now based on that you can make your decision. As for me, I somewhat neutral. I liked the movie but not to ignore the fact that this was just an average piece of work.
