What’s it About?

This movie is all about a man who encounters temporary memory loss while his marriage is ahead and his friends trying everything they can to cover up his condition with hopes on his memory to kick-back on time.

β€œAn instant cult comedy that delivers the laughs big time. Don’t miss it.”

~ Times Of India

It is indeed a treat to watch Vijay Sethupathi onscreen and you will realize that even back then he was a PRO in making you stay glued to your seats with his performance.

I won’t think twice to give this movie a rating of 9/10.

Plot/Story

Prem is an IT professional, a youngster who usually hangs around with his friends Bhagavathy (Bugs), Balaji, and Saras. Prem is in love with Dhanalakshmi and is about to tie the knot in two days and he is seen visibly nervous about his marriage as the movie starts.

To cool things down, Prem and his friends go to play cricket. While trying to take a catch, Prem trips, and falls. He gets up and looks fine until his friends find out that he forgot whatever has happened in his life for the past year, including Dhanalskahmi and his upcoming big day, his marriage.

Being freaked out with this condition of Prem, his friends consult a doctor and they find out that Prem’s memory has a good chance of coming back within a day or two. They take a chance and waits for his memory to kick back by the next dawn but the luck was against them.

Now they should manage to make Prem attend his reception that day and his marriage without being told about his condition to anyone till his memory comes back.

Performances

Vijay Sethupathi is always a treat to watch. He did the role of Prem. But unlike the routine hero oriented movies, in NKPK, all the four – Bagavathi Perumal (Bagavathi), Rajkumar (Balaji), and Vigneswaran (Saras) along with VJS have done an excellent job in this movie being the β€˜Heroes’.

Review

NKPK is a laugh riot and is a cult comedy movie in Tamil. The movie is made for all kinds of the audience alike and will promise to tickle your funny bones till the end.

What has to be noted is, the film is thrilling in its way. You can find a lot of relatable sequences throughout the movie.

The craziest part is, the movie is inspired by a real-life incident that happened with Premkumar, the cameraman of NKPK. Bagavathi Perumal was Premkumar’s real-life friend and he portrayed his character in the movie.

We can see that ease in the screenplay due to this. All the four characters are so convincing that multiple times you can see a lot of instances to relate yourself with.

Director Balaji Tharaneetharan succeeded in making a complete entertainer with no unusual insertion of songs and unwanted sequences to the movie but by just sticking on to the movie’s actual plot.

Final Verdict

If you’re a fan of Vijay Sethupathi, a movie lover, and/or someone looking for a stressbuster, you must add Naduvula Konchem Pakkatha Kaanom to your bucket list.
