3 min read

Ever since “M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story” released, I was planning to watch it again. But am too afraid to watch it now, none of his movies will never be the same again.

I’m in no position to comment on the controversy, can only pray to God that Sushant’s soul rests in peace.

So guys, in deep pain but with lots of affection, I present you a list of his best work from the very beginning.

Kai po che! (2013)

Based on Chetan Bhagat’s “3 Mistakes of My Life”, this movie was the first breakthrough for Shushant Singh Rajpoot in Bollywood industry.

Shushant plays the role of Ishaan Bhatt, an enthusiastic cricketer turned coach. This film revolves around three friends who starts to build their empire back in 2000 Gujrat where Hindu-Muslim riots were about to begin. Their friendship gets tested with political and communal Drama.

This films becomes a hit and a kickass start to Shushant’s Career.

Shudh Desi Romance (2013)

Shushant plays Raghu Ram who is a tourist guide in Jaipur and also works as fake Barati at Goyal’s. Raghu is passionate, caring, loving but he is afraid of commitment. He runs out from his arrange marriage, falls in love with a girl (Gayatri) who runs out on him, meets the same girl he was about to marry at first play, falls in love again but meets Gayatri again and becomes confuse between the two. Story about a love triangle who does not want to get committed for lifetime.

Again, this film also becomes a hit at box office. Two hits in a row.

PK (2014)

In 2014 he gets a chance to become a part of the biggest commercial hit of the year where he plays the role of Sarfaraz, a Pakistani boy, who falls in love with Jaggu but couldn’t make it on his own wedding on time and they both ends up in massive confusion causing them to breakup. The whole story of PK revolves around PK, Jaggu and Sarfaraz.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015)

In his second film with YRF, Shushant plays the role of Byomkesh Bakshy, a fictional detective created by a Bengali writer. The film shows the adventure of Byomkesh in fighting with the crime while solving the mystery of man’s missing father whom he declares murdered and saving people from being hurt.

However, this movie, despite being such a masterpiece, didn’t do well on the box office. But Shushant got such a serious appreciation for his role.

MS Dhoni: The untold story (2016)

This is where he got all the love, fame and glory. He plays MS Dhoni in this commercially and emotionally hit movie.

From the very beginning, everyone forgets whom they are watching Shushant or Dhoni himself, that’s how beautifully he played his role.

I can go on and on telling you about this movie, that’s how much I love it.

This movie shows the journey of Dhoni from being a ticked collector to becoming most successful Indian Cricket Team caption ever in the history of Indian Cricket, touching his personal life and family drama.

This movie was the widest release ever in Bollywood by being released in 61 countries under Fox Star Studios.

Raabta (2017)

After giving the biggest hit of his career, Shushant choses to play slightly different role.

In this movies he plays Shiv Kakkar who falls in love with Saira but now their love will get tested as Saira’s lover from her previous life gets reincarnated into today’s world.

This movie didn’t perform that well in box office and the producers had to bear loss from this movie.

Kedarnath (2018)

Shushant play role of Mansoor khan, who is a porter in kedarnath temple. He meets Mukku, a daughter of hindu priest who is engaged to a boy who dumped her sister. He flirts with Mansoor in order to embarrass her family but eventually falls in love with her. Her family finds out and now wants to kick out all the Muslim families from Kedarnath temple valley. The loves story turns out into a dense religious drama.

This movie becomes a hit in box office and gets love of the Audience.

Sonchiriya (2019)

This movie is a 1970 setup of Chambal, when a group of dacoits gets split up after their leader being killed. When they meet two sisters who are running away from home as their family is trying to killer them. They chose to fight for the sister and protect her while also running and defend themselves from the police and a rowdy cop.

Chhichhore (2019)

A story based on the moral that Suicide is not an option, under any circumstances.

Anirudh, a middle aged man, goes back to his memory lane telling us the story of his college life with his notorious friends, everybody calls them losers. They all gets reunited when one of their friends gets injured due and gets hospitalized. Anirudh meets his friends and the girl he loved back in his college days.

This movie also become an instant hit and got a lot of appreciation from the Audience.

Drive (2019)

This was the last movie Shushant’s fan got to see before his sad demise. But technically it’s not his last movie. This movie was supposed to release in theatres but due to inner Bollywood politics and groupizm this movie never made it to the theatre and got eventually released on Netflix.

Shushant played the role of Samar who plans a heist in a place nobody can imagine; The Rashtarpati bhawan. This movie shows the adventure of Samar and his team in performing the heist.

Final Words

There is still a movie (Dil bechara) which is released in Hotstar platform but sadly He isn’t here with us to celebrate this. I loved him in the movie Chhichhore and MS Dhoni. May his soul rest in peace.
