Introduction

The Bourne Supremacy is the third film in the Bourne series. The series is counted as one of those few movie series that kept getting better and better with the new releases. All because of this film. If it was not for this film, this series would have ended very badly, probably with huge financial losses, and not to forget the effect of that in the careers of the cast. 

But, this film thrived and there is a reason behind it that I’ve explained below. Keep reading to find out. 

Trivia

while shooting the scene where Matt fights the CIA officer and the security guard. Matt Accidentally knocks out Tim Griffin unconscious in a fight sequence. The shooting stopped there for the day. Matt apologized and they both ended up laughing about it and telling it in the talk shows and interviews.

Plot Summary

Bourne was a good spy and assassin who worked very well for his agency. But when he was working in India, one Russian spy framed him for stealing millions from the CIA. He starts to follow Bourne and gets a chance to kill him but ends up killing his wife accidentally. Now Bourne gets his shit together and plans painful revenge on his enemies.

Directors’ Role in making this film a success

The Director proved himself a worthy asset for both action and thrill-based movies by showcasing his talent and dedication in this movie. There were already two movies in the series and there’s very thin creativity and scope left for something new. In simple words, this movie could very easily be a disaster. Kudos to the director who worked closely and hand to hand with the backend team as well. He tells in an interview that he agreed to the script but later when he did some more research on the series he made some significant changes to the script to make things interesting and fresh and those were the things that saved this series from ending with a bad influence and impression. 

So much going on without a character arc 

You might get the wrong idea by reading the headline. Let me explain what I mean. This film doesn’t have a strong character arc but the character doesn’t need any arc here because this is a revenge-based film. The character is meant to be angry, vulnerable, and bloodhound. There’s a rare chance that such a character needs any evolution during the movie. That’s why this movie has so much to offer without any character arc.

Conclusion

The Bourne Supremacy was the third film in this series and was about to get screwed, but Greengrass (The Director) saves it from being a disaster. Now this series and this film are known for their nostalgia and action, that too in the time of James Bond and Ethan Hunt.
