We know how much cinema is celebrated in India. Along with celebrating cinema, people celebrate and worship the stars who appear on-screen. People going gaga over an actor, erecting cut-outs, and managing a dedicated fans association for an actor is a normal thing here.

But there is an actress, who has a huge number of fan following and is the only actress to have a day dedicated to her by her fans. The name is Kajal Aggarwal and her fans are celebrating Kajalism Day on December 20th every year doing various welfare activities and celebrating their favorite star in their own way.

Let’s see more about the actress, Kajalism, and why December 20th is chosen to celebrate her.

Everything started from here

Kajal Aggarwal who is basically a north Indian, debuted in Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai starring ‘Kyun! Ho gaya na…’ in 2004. She did a small role in the movie and had no idea of choosing cinema as her full-time profession.

Years later, the actress was offered the female lead role in ‘Lakshmi Kalyanam’ directed by Teja that was released in 2007. The cute and homely looking girl started to get attention from the audience. Even then, she never thought of continuing her career as an actress. But fate had other plans. Eventually, she started getting more offers from Tollywood and started to get recognized by people.

From an actress to a Celebrity

An offer to be the female lead in S. S. Rajamouli’s Magadheera became a turning point in Kajal’s life. Her performance as princess Mitravinda Devi in this historic action drama made her famous even in North India and she got many awards for her performance including the Filmfare for best actress. The dubbed version of Magadheera was watched by people from even abroad and her stardom reached sky-high.

From then on, the actress never had to look back. She started getting plenty of offers from both Telugu and Tamil movies. Movies like Arya 2, Businessman, Brindavanam, Temper, Tuppakki, etc became blockbusters not only because of the craze for the lead actors and the story but also because of the audience’s love towards her.

While 2020 basically gave only bad vibes to most of us, it was an unforgettable year for Kajal due to multiple reasons. In February, the famous ‘Madame Tussauds museum in Singapore unveiled her wax statue. She is the first and the only South Indian actress to have a wax statue in Madame Tussauds till-date.

When the world was hit by the pandemic, Kajal too had to stay back at her house in Mumbai pausing her ongoing shoots and the actress decided to get married to her best friend, a Mumbai-based businessman, Gautham Kitchlu. Kajal got married to Gautham on October 30, 2020, in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai.
