Maaran is closely attached to Shweta, his younger sister. Maaran does a sting operation to bring out an EVM machine scam of a political leader and faces life-threats and attacks for the same.

Review

Everything about Maaran is meaningless or too old. Even the big names like Karthick Naren and Dhanush couldn’t save this senseless movie.

With a plot that’s flat, screenplay that is flatter and performances that stays below average, it wasn’t surprising that the movie didn’t work. There is something that can be called as a ‘story’ in Maaran but it is older than Samuthirakani’s age in the movie. There are plenty of twists in the movie that never works and a lot of tears and emotions scattered throughout that makes the whole thing more depressing.

After a point Maaran makes one wonder where the movie is heading to. It is not meeting any new turns but just gets dragged and dragged towards a void. Malavika Mohanan should probably stick to the glamorous photoshoots of eye-candy characters rather that trying something more like in Maaran.

There is no point in Maaran that excites you. Right from the start it goes flat and never gets exciting.

Conclusion

Maaran is a must-avoid disaster, even for Dhanush fans.
