Summary

Malik is based on the Beemapally police shooting during 2009. Sulaiman Malik is the criminal head of Ramadapally and is respected by the people over there. The cops arrest him while he was living for Hajj and the police assign a boy to finish off Malik in prison. Parallelly, the history of the so-called Criminal head is shown, shedding light on what shaped him to become what he is at present.

Performance

Before going to performances, I must comment on the perfection Mahesh Narayanan had brought when it comes to casting. Every actor lived their roles and none felt like a misfit. Fahad Fazil, well, obviously he was excellent being Sulaiman Malik. He is an actor who has the caliber to carry a whole movie on his shoulder with his acting but it was different in Malik. It was an acting competition, I’ll say. Nimisha Vijayan as Malik’s wife Roselyn, Indrans as the Circle Inspector, Joju George as the Sub-Collector, Dileesh Pothan as Aboobacker, Vinay Fort as David… *sigh!* Everyone was excellent at playing their roles.

Review

When Mahesh Narayanan’s detailing on bringing various eras to the limelight is backed up with some extraordinary performances by the cast and a brilliant background score by Sushin Shyam, the output is a must-watch movie.

Conclusion

Malik is a must-watch movie. It is intense, engaging, and thrilling.
