One Line Review: One of the best sports-action movies from Tamil.
Since the movie team released the first look of Sarpatta Parambarai, everything looked so captivating and promising. People anticipated the movie to be a comeback from filmmaker PA Ranjith and the man proved them right.
“Sarpatta Parambarai Movie Review : Sarpatta Parambarai is a rousing boxing drama”~Times Of India
Our rating for Sarpatta Parambarai is 09/10.
Sarpatta Parambarai is a story that deals with the clash of two boxing clubs – Sarpatta Parambarai and Idiyappa Parambarai set in the 1970s. Kabilan is a man who always wanted to be a part of Sarpatta Parambarai but had to stay away from boxing due to his mother. Rangan Vaathiyar is the trainer of Sarpatta Parambarai. He finds out the talent and passion in Kabilan for boxing. Kabilan is shaped up as a boxer by Rangan Vaathiyar for a major fight and the rest of the story is about how boxing affects Kabilan’s life, politics that revolved during those times, and about the people who are connected with Sarpatta Parambarai.
Sarpatta Parambarai is a movie that is backed up with incredible performances by the cast. Each and every actor/actress did their best and the credits go to PA Ranjith. The kind of character arc he penned for Dancing Rose (Shabeer Kallarikkal), Daddy (John Vijay), Rangan Vaathiyar (Pasupathy), etc were top-notch. These characters will stay with the viewers for a long time.
Arya who played the character of Kabilan in the movie did his best. With a chiseled body, he nailed the action sequences. And as an actor, we were able to see what a performer he is throughout the movie. Shabeer’s performance as the Dancing Rose and John Vijay’s performance as Daddy became my personal favorites after watching the movie.
The movie is a must-watch without a doubt. Set in the 1970s, the visuals were so convincing and the maker brought back the vintage vibes. With a strong story, excellent BGM, and superb acting, Sarpattai Parambarai is undoubtedly one of the best movies released in Tamil recently.
GO FOR IT!
