House Of Cards

House of Cards is a political thriller based on the 1990 BBC miniseries and the novel of the same name by Michael Dobbs.

Set in Washington, D.C. the series revolves around Congressman Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat and House Majority Whip, and his equally ambitious wife Claire Underwood (Robin Wright). Aided by Claire, Frank hatches an elaborate plan to attain power after being passed over for appointment as Secretary of State. If there was one series that justifies ruthless pragmatism, manipulation, betrayal to attain power, House of Cards it is!

Narcos

A fascinating series set and filmed in Colombia; Narcos tells us the story of infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. The series focusses on the ruthlessly violent, unequivocally powerful, and beyond imagination rich drug cartels who would do anything and everything to keep their power and maintain their hold over South America.

The Crown

The Crown is an original drama, based on the real story of Queen Elizabeth II, showcasing her love life, political rivalries and the events that shaped the second half of the 20th century.

Vikings

Vikings loosely follows exploits of Norse heroes, chief among them Ragnar Lothbrok as he extends the Norse reach by exploring the seas and finding and looting rich lands across Europe.

Written beautifully and has possibly the best introduction songs, deserves a one time watch at least.

Black Mirror

Black Mirror showcases the use or rather misuse of technology in the future. The most unique aspect in all of its 5 seasons being: all episodes have different stories and different characters.

The Spy

Adding another series based on true events to the list. The Spy is based on Eli Choen, who was a Mossad agent, a rather successful one! After infiltrating the Syrian Government in the 1960s, he was able to get highly classified state secrets. Eli is credited to have changed Israel’s history.

The Spy is one of the few limited-run series. Makes it a perfect weekend watch.
