Summary
Sardar Udham is seen as a prisoner at the start of the movie and he’s released after his sentencing. Even though he’s under the watch of the authorities, he successfully flees to London via the USSR and maintains a silent stay there. He makes silent but very calculated moves against O’Dwyer who was responsible for the brutal Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Udham does various professions while in London and gradually approaches his prey. He assassinates O’Dwyer and surrenders to the cops.
The rest of the story gives details about his past and freedom struggles.
Review
Vicky Kaushal was Sardar Udham in this movie. You can’t see the actor but the patriot onscreen. He nailed his character and this will be one of his career-best performances.
Shoojit Sircar did an extraordinary job being a filmmaker in this movie. To recreate the past era itself is a humongous task. He did it with perfection but the visuals and the way the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre was shot was just⦠brutal! He was successfully able to bring out every essence from the happenings on screen. Even though the movie moves slowly, it never loses its grip.
Conclusion
Sardar Udham is a must-watch for every Indian. It’s high with emotions and patriotism.
