Introduction

Hi! Welcome back to somewhat similar; a Bollywood remake of an already successful film and almost ruining it to the lowest. This movie is a remake of 2016 Paul Hawkin’s “The Girl on the Train” which honestly isn’t suited for the Indian audience and our creators didn’t even bother to make it suitable for us. They just swapped the Cast, added few extra scenes and that’s it. I’m giving it a 2.5/5, why? Let’s find out.

Plot Summary

Mira Dev (Parineeti Chopra) is a self-destructive alcoholic girl, who has no idea what she is doing with her life. She has a failed marriage and after her divorce, everything has fallen apart. Although, She sees a beautiful girl and a boy every day through the window of her train seat. She sees the happy couple and falls into the circuit of old memories of her marriage. But everything turns upside down when she saw something very weird that one day, and she could not help herself finding the murderer of the beautiful girl she used to watch every day with her husband.

The Lazy Bollywood Creators

The creators of this movie only did three things; They hired an Indian Cast, They added Indian songs in between the sequences (Which no one really asked for, I don’t why they put songs in their movies unless really required), and they added extra suspense to the climax. That’s it. They didn’t even touch the plotline with a three feet long pipe. That’s how pathetic and lazy they are in this movie.

Performance

The only good thing about this movie is the performance of the cast. They did the job for what they were assigned. Unlike the backend group who has only one job and they messed up. Let’s talk about Parineeti, She played the character very well, an alcoholic girl who is on the path of destroying her life and has no idea of what she is up to after her divorce. When you are seeing the character exactly what they want you to see them, it simply means the actor performed his job well. Kriti Kulhari, very well put together. She plays an honest cop who genuinely wants to find the truth. I enjoyed watching them.

Verdict

If you haven’t seen the original movie then go for it, because you won’t have expectations from it and you won’t be disappointed at large. But if you have seen the original and still want a reason to watch this movie then watch it for Parineeti’s performance.
