The excellent thing about OTT platforms and a continuous stream of A1 digital content is this pool of ridiculously talented actors who have graced our screens, and NEED to be appreciated more! Here’s a list of underrated actors whom we can’t wait to see more of!

Having acted in acclaimed web series like Mirzapur, Delhi Crime, and most recently – A Suitable Boy (2020), Rasika Dugal, in various interviews, has stated how she owes all of her fame to the digital space.

After playing Savita Kapoor in Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy, she doesn’t go unnoticed.

Her upcoming project is that of ‘Out of Love’, where she plays a doctor. She has donned a different are more feisty look in Season 2 of Mirzapur!

One thing’s for sure, this fresh face has a lot to give.

Arjun Mathur is no new-bee to the film industry. Having been a part of numerous films including Luck By Chance (2009) and My Name Is Khan (2010).

Arjun has now gained his much-deserved stardom after his remarkable performance in Zoya Akhtar’s Made in Heaven – that even got him his first Emmy nomination (2020) for ‘Best Performance by an Actor’.

His upcoming projects include the Season 2 for Made in Heaven; and you best believe we’re all getting really impatient!

Her Emmy 2020 nomination for the show Four More Shots Please! (2019) is telling of Sayani Gupta’s arguably raw talent.

She’s confident, fearless, and manages to blend into every role she plays quite seamlessly.

Sayani has worked as a supporting actor in many critically acclaimed movies including Fan (2016), Jolly LLB 2 (2017), and Article 15 (2019).

He featured in several web series: Permanent Roommates (2014), TVF Tripling (2016), and Stories by Rabindranath Tagore (since 2015)


Tanya Maniktala

All of only 23 years old, Tanya Maniktala has gained ominous appreciation over the lockdown for her lead role in ‘A Suitable Boy’ (2020) as Lata, a determined, strong-headed and witty university student, who is on the hunt for a suitable boy – for which she also awarded ‘the Rising Star’ by TIFF 2020.

She had previously worked in TVF’s ‘Flames’ (2018). Hailing from quite the ordinary background of working as a copyrighter in Delhi, she doesn’t plan on looking back now!

And to us, she makes for a promising new entrant in the industry.
