One Line Review: Thani Oruvan is a brilliant cat and mouse game that keeps you at the edge of your seat till the end.
Thani Oruvan will always be remembered as one of the best thrillers ever made in India. Mohan Raja who was a pro in creating competitive remakes stepped into his first original creation, a great entertainer was born.
“A pretty smart, pulpy thriller.”~ The Hindu
Our review for Thani Oruvan is 09/10.
IPS officer Mithran is on a mission to find a person who can be termed as the root-cause of a good number of evils happening around so that he can stop that one person thereby putting a stop to the chain of crimes linked to him. Mithran finds a perfect match to his search and that is Siddharth Abhimanyu, a scientist for whom money matters more than anything. Mithran finds out that Siddharth is involved in a medical crime and is adamant to stop him. Siddharth here is an evil genius and their face-off is the crux of the story.
Aravind Sami can’t get a better comeback than Thani Oruvan. Aravind Sami as Siddharth Abhimanyu is the backbone of the movie. It is like, Mohan Raja believes that, stronger the antagonist stronger the movie. The way both Mithran’s and Siddharth’s characters makes the movie more interesting. The character establishment made it better to understand them in depth.
With beautiful songs placed at the right places, and terrific BGM’s for both the lead characters, the movie never loses its pace despite its length. Due to the brilliance in portraying the characters and the smart cat and mouse game, the repeat value of Thani Oruvan was high and hence became one of the best movies to be released in 2015.
If you are a fan of a neatly written edge of the seat thriller, you should never miss Thani Oruvan.
